"True healing happens when we address not just the symptoms, but the whole person— mind, body, and spirit. Every patient deserves care that honors their unique journey to wellness."
Dr. Bottrill's journey to integrative medicine

The Path to Integrative Medicine

My journey into integrative medicine began during my residency when I witnessed the limitations of treating patients with a purely symptom-focused approach. I saw too many people receiving prescriptions without addressing the underlying causes of their illness—and I knew there had to be a better way.

This realization led me to explore functional medicine, nutrition science, acupuncture, and mind-body therapies. I pursued additional training and certifications, determined to offer my patients a more comprehensive approach to healing. Today, I'm honored to practice medicine that treats the whole person, not just the disease.

Every patient I see reminds me why I chose this path—to make a real, lasting difference in people's lives by addressing root causes and empowering them with knowledge and tools for optimal health.

Philosophy of Care

I believe that healing is a partnership. My role is not to simply prescribe treatments, but to listen deeply, understand your unique story, and work with you to create a personalized path to wellness.

My core principles:

  • Listen First: Every symptom tells a story. I take time to understand your complete health history, lifestyle, and goals before recommending treatment.
  • Treat the Root Cause: Rather than masking symptoms, I investigate and address the underlying imbalances causing your health concerns.
  • Integrate the Best of All Worlds: I combine evidence-based conventional medicine with proven complementary therapies for optimal outcomes.
  • Empower Through Education: Knowledge is healing. I ensure you understand your body, your condition, and your treatment options.
  • Support the Whole Person: True wellness encompasses physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health.

Beyond the Clinic

I practice what I preach when it comes to wellness. My own health journey has taught me the importance of balance, mindfulness, and staying connected to nature—lessons I share with my patients every day.

When I'm not seeing patients, you'll find me:

  • Exploring the New Hampshire coast: I'm an avid hiker and find that time in nature is essential for mental clarity and spiritual renewal.
  • In the kitchen: I love experimenting with whole food recipes and learning about the healing power of different cuisines from around the world.
  • Practicing yoga and meditation: These daily practices help me stay grounded and present, both for myself and for my patients.
  • Reading and learning: I'm constantly studying new research in integrative medicine, nutrition, and holistic healing modalities.
  • Spending time with family: My spouse and two children keep me grounded and remind me what truly matters in life.

I'm also actively involved in our local community, offering wellness workshops and volunteering with organizations focused on health education and access to integrative care.
